Informative and educational while being constantly entertaining, The Antidotes is a fun-filled adventure tale that follows a group of fifth-graders working on finding a solution for plastic pollution. Author Patty Mechael, a public health specialist, sheds light on the increasingly relevant topic of plastic usage and its role in the destruction of oceanic ecosystems. This is a book that should be introduced to all preteens out there for the future of this planet lies in their hands. Although every member of The Antidotes has a distinct personality and agency in their actions, they all work together for the greater good. A lesson for us all. Highly recommended to kids and their parents.
